“I started Country Culture because I could see that there was this really rich and colourful source of talent in sometimes the most unexpected of places. The more I looked into it, the more I realized that we needed to bring this talent together, and showcase it to the whole world"Our founder, Angela Lavender
Country Culture Australia
At Country Culture, we stand for celebrating the rich and diverse culture of Australia through our locally sourced gifts.
A note from the Founder
After moving from Sydney to Spring Ridge on the Liverpool Plains in North Western New South Wales, I really missed the city galleries and boutiques and found myself exploring quaint, local villages.
Here I stumbled upon local makers, designers and producers, crafting quality goods in hidden workspaces. Not only was their wide range of products incredible, but I also fell in love with each artisan’s story and the passion that surrounded the making process.
Astonishingly, only the locals knew where to find them; the more I looked into it, the more I realised what was needed: a platform that brought together this rich and colourful talent in one place, and showcased it to the world.
And so Country Culture was born.
While we’ve evolved and much has changed since we opened our doors in 2012, our commitment to champion Australian made and owned small businesses from all regions has remained unwavering.
As demand for our service has grown, so too has our company. What was once a room in my home in regional New South Wales, is now a warehouse brimming with finds from after in Sydney’s Inner West.
We’ve embraced new technologies to enhance the customer experience and streamline our operations. We’ve done this in a way that reflects our commitment to sustainability at all levels.
We’ve expanded our product offering through a continual focus on collaboration, and are able to deliver large quantities of these, with expedience, straight from our warehouse. We’re now servicing the seasonal and other gifting needs of a growing number of corporates.
I’m proud that our platform is one that supports our talented collaborators to do work they love from the places that so inspire them - in most cases, rural and regional - provides the mechanism for their creations to be enjoyed by people from all over.
I’m also proud that our team of 6 includes young women from the country who have moved to Sydney to study.
Rusty, our blue heeler, has been the face of Country Culture from the beginning. If you meet him, you’ll see why he almost always gets his way.
Have a look around and follow us on our travels. You never know what’s around the corner. For you, we hope it’s a gifting experience that you’ll want to repeat.
